Al Oqaili Museum

The home was erected in 1923 in the Al Ras district of Deira and was owned by the poet Mubarak bin Hamad bin Mubarak Al Manea Al Oqaili, who moved from Saudi Arabia and resided there from 1875 to 1954. He is regarded as one of Dubai's most famous poets and important luminaries, having written Eloquent and Nabataean poetry. The poet Al Oqaili assembled a team of professional builders from the Al Ahsa region in the Arabian Peninsula to construct this house. Those builders created creative embellishments as well as artistic writings, which enhanced the visual qualities of the house and gave it its distinctive historical significance.
